Polar Pac™
A flawless performance
The 1st product in the Axane Fuel Cell range in 2002 was the Polar Pac™ , tested by the Doctor and Explorer, Jean-Louis Etienne, on a scientific mission to the North Pole. During the mission to the Ice Cap, the Polar Pac ™ performed reliably and without any problem.
The objectives of this demonstration
Over and above the environmental interest of the Ice Cap Mission, the experiment demonstrated how well this technology, for which « general public » applications are now conceivable in the medium term, had been developed and mastered by the teams from Axane and Air Liquide. At the system design stage, the emphasis was put on simplifying the maintenance of critical components. These components were selected to ensure very high levels of safety for the Fuel Cell system during the whole life cycle of the mission.
